This Privacy Policy explains how FairLedger Insights Ltd. ("we", "us", "FairLedger") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit fairledger.io or interact with our products. We comply with the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PIPEDA where applicable.
1. Data we collect
We collect three categories of personal data:
- Information you give us - your email address when you contact us, sign in or sign up for the wager-share program.
- Information collected automatically - your IP address (truncated to /24 within 24 hours), the page you viewed, the page that referred you and your user agent. We do not use third-party analytics scripts. Server logs are retained for 30 days for security.
- On-chain transaction data - when we attribute a payout to your wallet for the wager-share program, we record only the wallet address and amount, not your name or email.
2. Why we use your data
- To reply to questions you submit through the contact form.
- To deliver wager-share rewards you have earned.
- To prevent abuse, fraud and bot scraping of our data feeds.
- To produce aggregate, anonymised traffic statistics.
3. Lawful basis
We rely on (a) contract performance for wager-share payouts, (b) legitimate interests for security logs and product analytics and (c) consent for any marketing email you opt into. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
4. Who we share data with
We use a small set of vetted processors:
- Cloudflare - CDN, hosting, DDoS protection (UK / EU regions).
- Stripe - if you ever pay us, payment processing only.
- Google Workspace - email delivery for the contact form.
We do not sell personal data to anyone, ever. Operators referenced on the site receive only your sign-up referral - they do not receive your email or any FairLedger account data.
5. International transfers
Some processors are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the EEA, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (June 2021).
6. Retention
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Wager-share payout records: 7 years (UK financial-records law).
- Contact-form messages: 18 months from last reply, then deleted.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
